EN 61000‒6‒1:2007 Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) — Part 6 – 1: Generic standards; Immunity for residential, commercial and light-industrial environments
Scope
International standard EN 61000‒6‒1:2007 is applicable for electrical equipment that is used or intended to be used in residential, commercial and light industrial environments. If product do not have any specific product standard or product family standard EN 61000 – 6-1:2007 can be applied.
International standard EN 61000‒6‒1:2007 is applicable for equipment that can be connected to low voltage public network or public DC network that is shared by other electronic equipment. Standard applies to battery powered equipment, also.
Residential, commercial and light industrial environment indoor and outdoor can be:
- Flats, apartments, studios, houses;
- Supermarkets, shops, restaurants;
- Banks, offices, other business areas;
- Cinemas, clubs, bars;
- Sport centers, oil station, car parking areas;
- Laboratories, workshops;
Classification
International standard EN 61000‒6‒1:2007 have no classification of equipment it covers.
Examples
Universal power supplies, electrical heaters, signs in parking areas, massage equipment, ventilators, charging devices, sofas and chairs with electronic features– massage, radio, driving functions, compact cinema cabinets (3D 4D 5D cinemas).

Voltage dip and short interruption immunity at power ports.
Electrical fast transients– burst immunity.
