Electromagnetic compatibility testing in EMC lab EN 61547

EN 61547:2009 Equipment for general lighting purposes — EMC immunity requirements (IEC 61547:2009)

Scope
International standard EN 61547:2009 is applicable to lamps, auxiliaries
and luminaires, intended either for connecting to a low voltage electricity supply or for battery operation.

Excluded from the standard EN 61547:2009 are following equipment:
• lighting equipment for use in transport vehicles, such as trains, busses, and cars;
• entertainment lighting control equipment for professional purposes;
• lighting devices built into other equipment such as– scale indicators, photocopiers, projectors, multimedia equipment.

Classification
International standard EN 61547:2009 have no specific overall classification of equipment.

Examples
Luminaries, LED lamps, street LED lighting devices, table lamps, office lighting equipment.

Performance criteria

Criteria A
During the testing, no change of the lighting intensity shall be observed. Regulating controls shall operate during the testing as intended.

Criteria B
During the testing, the lighting intensity may change to any value. After the testing, the lighting intensity shall be restored to its initial value within 1min. During the testing, regulating controls are allowed to stop functioning, but after the test, the device should restore the mode same as before the testing. Controls shall be in operating order after the testing.

Criteria C
During and after the testing, any change of the lighting intensity is allowed. 30min after the testing all functions of equipment shall return to normal operation, it is allowed to interrupt the mains supply and/or controls.

EMC testing

RF EMC DEVELOPMENT provides accredited EMC testing to reach European market. We hold a long list of European standards for such industries as– household, industrial, automotive, medical, telecom, railway and aerospace. Our test laboratory is accredited by European notified bodies according to ISO17025. Save your time by trying to couple EMC testing with other tests and CE certification needs (safety, environmental, energy efficiency, performance).

Certification

Through our partners, notified bodies in European Union, RF EMC DEVELOPMENT provides certification services for manufacturers, retailers, distributors and suppliers to enter EU market. We provide all services to certificate your products in short time span– EMC testing, LVD testing, development for such products as: lighting equipment, automotive, consumer electronics, industrial electronic and machinery, medical equipment, telecommunications and woodworking equipment etc.
