New standards for Multimedia Equipment for CE Marking in European Union
EN 55032 replaces EN 55022, EN 55013 and EN 55103.
New harmonized emission and immunity standards are added to the European Official Journal making them available for demonstrating conformity with EMC Directive 2004/108/EC.
Due to the technical progress of technologies, the EMC standards for sound and television broadcast receivers and audio, video, audio-visual and entertainment lighting control apparatusare being merged with information technology equipment into a single standard.
EN 55032 has officially been added to the European Official Journal, with a transition period until March 2017, it means that EN 55022, EN 55013 and EN 550103 can be legally used until March 2017 to show compliance with EMC directive.
EN 55032 Electromagnetic compatibility of multimedia equipment — Emission requirements (CISPR 32:2012)replaces the following standards:
EN 55022 Information technology equipment — Radio disturbance characteristics — Limits and methods of measurement (CISPR 22:2008, modified)
EN 55013 Sound and television broadcast receivers and associated equipment — Radio disturbance characteristics — Limits and methods of measurement (CISPR 13:2009, modified)
EN 55103 Electromagnetic compatibility — Product family standard for audio, video, audio-visual and entertainment lighting control apparatus for professional use — Part 1: Emissions
Almost all the limit values and measurement procedures remain unchanged in new EN 55032, except disturbance power measurements.
For immunity, EN 55035 will replace EN 55024 (Information technology equipment), EN55020 (Sound and television broadcast receivers) and EN 55103 (audio, video, audio-visual and entertainment lighting control apparatus). EN 55035 has not yet been added to the European Official Journal and cannot be used.
